As a Certified Creative Aging Instructor, I've taught classes in bookmaking, sculpture, and memoir. Popular classes include"Six-Minute Story in a handmade book, and "Journaling in Clay." In Six-Minute Story," over the course of six to eight weeks, meeting once a week, students create a micro-memoir meant to be read aloud and set into a beautiful book. We work on the basic skills of writing from life, share work in a positive, safe setting, and use a variety of paints and other media on high-quality papers to construct a "flutter book." Students have participated in readings and exhibits at the Georgia T. Lord Library in Goodyear, Arizona.  "Journaling in Clay" teacher students to use small-scale, daily sculpture to connect to themselves, express deeply felt emotions and beliefs, recognize patterns, and and find healing and/or laughter. Classes are currently being scheduled for summer 2026 in Goodyear, Arizona, Phoenix, and North Dakota.
